Football Illustrations and Design Work for Brønshøj Boldklub
It was a real pleasure and privilege to create illustrations and design work for Brønshøj Boldklub during the 2021/22 season. The club was playing in the fifth tier of Danish football at the time.
Brønshøj is one of Copenhagen’s ten official districts, and it’s where I live. The club was founded in 1919 and reached its peak in the early 1980s under the legendary Ebbe Skovdahl. Ebbe later became Brøndby IF’s most successful manager and eventually took charge of Aberdeen — my hometown team and lifelong football allegiance (alongside Brønshøj, of course).
Beyond the first team, Brønshøj Boldklub has always had a strong community presence, with more than twenty teams ranging from U13 boys and girls all the way up to an over-70s senior team. That grassroots, inclusive spirit is central to the club’s identity and makes it a vital part of life in the Brønshøj area.
It was a joy to reflect some of that spirit through illustration and design.
